By choice i would just ask a local mechanic just to fit it on, shouldn't take more then 10 mins ($20 max), if its anymore, just ask around, they aren't a hard thing to install if ya know what to look for and what your doing, but for me who doesn't know engines, just get it installed, should be cheap.

umm what do you mean your turbo is mnounted near the bumper?
do you mean your turbo is infront of the radiator or have you got mixed up with your intercooler?
people have trouble fitting intercooler piping to the front so getting a turbo and manifold to fit in there will be a huge hassle :heehee:
its very very simple, but with the blitz i think you need to get a new adapter made up as it does not clamp on with a rubber hose like most. this might end up costing you a bit more.

You can also choose between two positions,
1. close to the turbo, this is safest if you want to protect the turbo.
2. near the throttle body, this is less effective if you want it to save your turbo, but it is more responsive sound wise.

i have always read that it is better near the thorttle body because this is closer to the point where the air is being forced back after the Tb having shut off.
on some nissans its is usually done near the turbos only because the Tb side of the intercooler is squashy rubber/plastic hose...

Hey,
just sent ya a PM man.
BOV are becoming targets for cops to defect and send ppl straight to regency.... i got done, i have obvious other defects, lie the fact my exhaust is deafening....
but he only noted the BOV cos he knows i'm screwed at regency. If its possible, i'd hide your BOV, cos so much stuff is defectable and its a pain to get back on the road i regency do you over.... just a friendly warning speaking from experience. :hitwall:
But as far as installing it, any exhaust shop can weld on an adaptor... u want it so you can remove it easily, the plumbing is dead simple... read my PM and get back to me.

well shit mine is big and red and welded right infront of your face...... just one kwestion....
HOW THE F*CK IS A BOV A DEFECT.........????????
i mean they come stock on the wrx dont they?, is it still a defect if you have a plumback system? is it just cos of noise pollution that it is a defect.......?? bah, this defect crap is way outta hand.....

The main way they defect you for having a BOV, even if it is factory BOV. Its called EPA Noise Pollution Level.
This country sucks when it comes to Kit Cars

Also on an N12 (or any car with an AFM) you are releasing air and hence buggerising around with the pollution ratios, so they rape you for that.
Stock cars recirculate them so they dont affect fuel ratios.
Best not to have one at all, or at least plumb it back into the intake. Unless ya a wanker ;)

Just get a Stealth BOV
Has a switch from straight BOV to Recirculating BOV

if yoru scared then get a adjustable one which most are,, if the car stalls then tighten it a little. If you want a bov and yoru scared of ecu problems get a BOV that recirculates back into the intake.

anything will bo.. bov are very overrated., hey are just a valve and a spring, you are paying for the name more than anything. Any of the jap brands, hks, trust/greddy, blitz are good but exxy. turbosmart, GFB. If you want to recirculate it and arent going to raise boost say over 12psi then even a stock lancer or nissan one will do.

ok so like a siliva one or a skyline one will work fine?
cause i got my eye on this turbosmart one but i dun wanna have to re-prog my ecu

turbsmart wil be fine,, no one ever reprograms the stock ecu.. imho its a nasty piece of work. The worse that could happen is a litte puff of black smoke on gear changes..

i reckon if u wanna get a blow of valve then get it for the right reasons otherwise people are just gonna call it a show off valve, most people use it to attract attention which i personally think is pretty stupid, just get a small quiet one or a plumb back if u're gonna run bigger boost. its probably better to mount it closer to the throttle body coz thats where most of the pressure is.
Paz: funny u ask that coz i'd ask why is anything thats not factory defective. a dumb cop canaried my friends wrx once for stock suspension hahahaha

The richness between gear changes is not harmfull. It actually encourages your car to pop out the exhaust with a nice little flame which is kind of cool.
Atmosphere vented bov's are illegal because of exactly what JeffET said and they are also blowing air into the atmosphere which has deposits of oil mist from the turbo (very fine mist but it is there).
By the way, some plum back's from the after market sound dope as they give a shuttering noise if you also have an external pod filter.

hey,
if you have a stock ecu and your venting to atmosphere - that little bit of fuel that goes through may not be harmfull, but it will slow you down. You'll feel a big flatspot on gear changes as the car will be rich as all fuck. Up to you though...

True, in my opiniom bov's that vent to atmosphere sound a bit tosserish these days!!
