I have heard from a few people that if you have pedal covers with rubber on them that you can not be defected for them as the rubber is there to stop your feet from slipping. Does anyone know if this is true ???

as the same goes for anything....
depends on the police officers that pulls u over....

but i am 99.999% sure .. that if the pedal has some form of rubber on it... then u CAN have them ...
but the more rubber the better....

that is here in QLD anyway

I did hear something about rubber grips being okay, but metal grips not okay. Either way the fuzz down here like to make it up as they go...

Or you could just cover your aftermarket pedals totally with rubber, so then the whole surface is grippy. They would kind of look like, um well, the original pedals!!!

Well I got my pedals for free!! :heehee: :heehee:

A mate converted his car from a manual 2L to an auto 4.1L auto, so he had no need for em. And they don't have rubber either.

rubber schmubber i recon if it's gonna be a defect to havw non-rubberized pedalsthen tha f'in shops shouldn't sell em to ya!

So if u get pulled over... ask "why did the shop sell them if they are a defect item??? I had no idea"

;)

The reason they sell them is because you can use them for off road use and for display.

see here's where the law is fucked...

u can sell anything u want, but the buyer can use it, but not while the car is in motion...

however its the same as neons...

they can be on the car, just not in use while driving.

Don't forget kicker got a warning from the TMU for having them on while parked. Mind you, the tube was visible (not just the glow) and the parking space was one of those 45deg ones on the side of the road. Therefore it may have posed a distraction. But on the other hand it was at 2am in the middle of nowhere.

The law regarding rice mods needs to be more clearly defined, because at the moment it seems to be whatever the copper thinks it should be at the time... :flamedevi

the story behind my reasoning is i went through a boose bus with em on, i seriously forgot they were on... he said he's gona give me a ticket... i said they are legail... thats at least what the auto barn shop dude said... he was like oh really well thats ok, i'll give u a warnign... its a $135 fine if u get caught with them on... however u really need to look for mine, i have them covered...
