1985 exa help

hey can anyone help me on this i have a 1985 nissan exa pulsar it has a pipe coming of the exhast manifold and runs to the air filter and i took it off and it sucks air out of the air filter can someone tell me wat the hell this is or wat it does :driving:

im guessing your car is n/a...

the pipe is a heat pipe, basically it draws hot air off the manafold to improve cold weather driving and helps warm the car up quicker for cold starts.
It is pointless and shit unless you live in a place that snows regularly, all it does is reduce performance by feeding the engine hot air.

cool thanks for that i have taken it off and patched it up and the car runs better now need a turbo tho:driving:
