as some of you know a while ago, i blew the seals in my original t2 turbo...
one day, my car started pouring fimiliar white "turbo is stuffed" smoke.
We (dad and I) were lucky enough to come accross a "reco garret GT20" for sale, so we bought it. it was to "bolt straight up" with no mods. Dad, myself and his mate fitted it having to change oil feed lines and oil return lines and the rotation of the housings. anyway to cut the story short we done the mods needed, and had it ready for the first turn of the key. It started, but to my great dissappointment, still blew smoke, not as bad as before, but still fairly bad. we took the turbo off and lay it on the ground and continued inspecting the engine (the head) as we thought the smoke problem was a valve stem seal or something. A mate of mine, a turbo mechanic was over and i showed him the new turbo and he showed me shaft play in it indicating it was not much better then my old t2 turbo. we were sold 2nd hand garbage. so now, i have had my car "off the road" for over a month and we are back to square one in trying to find another turbo for it.
the questions:
i have done oil feed line mods, will a t25 bolt up with VERY little dificulty at all
what mods are needed for t28
does anyone know of new/reco (NOT 2nd hand garbage) T2s/ hf T2s for sale
what should i do now?
thanks all
