Replace the clutch with a factory or OEM clutch. Also, you might want to replace the clutch cable! I cannot stress how important that is. I once snapped the clutch cable while getting on freeway and had to coast uphill in neutral and into the center median (which happened to be dirt).
My brother replaced my clutch (he does the work) a few weeks ago. Made a world of difference. The clutch should feel very light.

From my experience working with hydrolic brake systems, when the brakes get stiff and possibly drops the rpms a little (when its really bad you hear a hiss by the pedal and rpms drop 500 - 1000 and its really really stiff). The problem is the master cylinder(called a brake booster in a brake system) has a small leak. Maybe it is called a clutch booster, not too sure. Try to see if you can get one from a junk yard for cheap as nissan will hose you.
Then again you may want to check your hydrolic line from the booster to the clutch for any small leaks aswell, as that would be a much cheaper fix. Maybe you'll get lucky

does the clutch make noise when pressing the pedal???
there is a unit mounted on the fire wall, acts as a plunger, then there is a slave cylinder mounted on the tranni.
i would be looking towards those those two or even the throw out bearing might be siezed.
or the fingers are gone or...you get the idea...
but if it doesnt make any noise then i would definatly be leaning towards the slave or the plunger.
if the t.o. bearing is siezed the fingers will grind on it.
or it could even be the lever linkage from the slave to the t.o. bearing...
oh where to start-hehe
