My Clear Tail Lights *From Phatsar*

These are my clear tail lights Galen got custom done on PhaTsar when he owned it. now that he sold it to me i might be looking into different colored bulbs right now cause the ones in it right now are sexy and all *hot pink at night* but they will eventually burn out and wont look so good anymore..i might get some similier to rasberry like the little lights on the side of it;) :heehee:

heres another pic of my 4 inch Tip magnaflow performance muffler and its the very same one that i have on my 1987 nissan pulsar nx Se. The reason im putting it up is because sys-failure wanted to know and some others might want to also:D

well Galen had em custom made when he owned the car but i dont think there aloooot of money lol...you should look up a place that might be able to do em and see how much it be i mean he even had a second set made and guess who bought them...jason and he lives in pensacola florida Usa also where i live..lol we both got clears:heehee:

yeah magnaflow mufflers are nice but pricey but there worth it because there a REAL performance muffler mines sweet enough i dont think ill ever change it:thumbsup:

well Galen (the last owner of phatsar) had them custom made somewhere in harissonburg virginia i think he said when i talked to em on the phone about it he had like 2 or 3 made i think 2..he dint say how much it be but you will just have to look around to find out more about a place that could possibly make some custom ones..maybe take out the stock tail lights on a pulsar at a junker and take off the plastic piece around the lenses and take off the lenses and get someone to custom make lenses like the stock red ones except clear:confused: :thumbsup: hope this helps:cheers:

cause round here they usually only make the altezza style lights...
also does the coloured plastic come off the actuall bak lights...
i thought it was all one???

hmm they may be able to be picked out of there seperately if you do it carefully but now that i do remember it they are a single piece but still if you manage to cut or pick them out somehow you could take em to be copyed for a clear pair and then get them done by a expert to be put back in like sealed or some type of sealent or somethin not too sure..but those are some ideas:thumbsup:

if you think you cut them or picked them out too aggresively them you can always have the sides that hold the lenses in place sanded and smoothed out or do it yourself because the plastic piece it self should be repainted your car color when you get copys made of the stock red lenses except clear so when you put them back in they fit in nice and smoothly are clear and are painted to match your car...if its a simple car color like red or white or somethin simple to get you could always paint the tail light plastic shells them selves as long as your good like me and jason:cool:

look in the yellowpages for a plastic injection place. They should be able to take a mould of the lights and then make clear ones by injecting clear plastic into the mould.

i dont remember who it was, but sumone posted saying that he heated up the original lenses and was able 2 peel off the red colourto leave clear plastic lenses.... i was gonna try it but id rather save up for my front bar than spend approx 150 a light from a wrecker to try it and prob fuck it up... its a cool mod though, i hate seeing lancers and civis with clear tails cos everyone has them and i reckon they just look shit, but its extremely rare 2 see them on exas ( never seen oe in person!) and i think they would be extrememly cool!!!
have to watch the gay arse smurfs here in syd dont defect u for it though...

damn stuff is expensive over there because over here i could prob go to a junker and get a couple tail lights for like 20 each or somethin not like a 100$ or more..lol:hairgrow:

hey, i still have the lenses i took out of my 87. as far as i can tell, the red stripes do not seperate from the casing. i don't want to screw them up but i am pretty sure they are one piece. I wanted to give the casings a chrome look with chrome film or something. sort of like alteeza. is anyone sure that they are supposed to come apart???

no i think if i remember when i saw jasons old ones there one piece nxindy but i was talkin about them being cut or popped out by a expert and being copyed for some clears and have a expert put em back in with some sealent or some type of shit that makes em look stock..:D

well its anybodys choice you would prob have to re sand the edges and smooth em back out to fit in there nicely again and then seal em in the inside so it doesint show up on the outside;)

i was chasing these up a few years ago in adelaide and no place really want to touch the job or said it would be pricy and couldnt garentee (spell??) it wouls fit aswell as factory but mayb there r some places in NSW someone over there should chase around im really keen to get some

this is my idea i dont know if its what other people mean or not, BUT i dont see why itd be so hard to pop the red factory lenses out then get sum thin clear perspex and put that back in instead of the factory red lenses..... i seriuosly dont think it could be that hard,
the only issue with that is that instead of the lens sitting flush with the housing the lense would be 2-3mm pushed inside the housing..... who knows this may also make em look better?!?!?

okay, i have been staring at my spare set (of light pods that is!) for two days and have determined that i could cut out the stripes with a dremmel tool and a deft hand. but then what? i believe that the only way is to have a pro make a mold and go from there. nonetheless it IS one of the coolest of al mods i've seen. let's go on to something else and give phatsar his due. offtap2:

im doing a 1st yr carpentry apprenticeship and i reckon i could cut em out aswell!!! my idea would be to find the right sized drill bit, one that is the same width as one of the lens strips drill one hole at each end (so it matches the curved end bit, and now that u have a hole 2 work from u could use a jigsaw with a perspex cutting blade and cut the straight bits! and hey presto theyr cut out!! hrmmm im thinkin of passing on the front bar and getting a set of tails 2 try it on.... dammit i keep puttin off that front bar and mines fuct1!!!

i tied to cut a spare set out, didn't work too well :(

i'm guess it might be easier to make a guide around the strips with wood, then use a rouder to cut out the plastic. but that's just a random idea.

IF YOU SOFTENED THE LENS WITH HEAT AND MASKED UP BOTH SIDES IT WOULD B LESS LIKELY TO CRACK WHEN CUTTING.

BUT WHAT IM WONDERING IS WHY NOT take the lens off, bend perspex around the frame, and make a removeable fibreglass cover with slits that can go over the top

it even looks like the stock lights...
like all the definition lines which seperate the blinkers to the rest is still there...

Actually that lights shouldnt be so expensive... you only need a hot air pistol... and an original lamp to use as mold... even you can make the lamps!!!

I have my lamps done for 120 US$.... the equivalent should be 60 AU$.

I still think someone should try a plastic molding place. Couldnot be that much if you take just the lense to them and they make a mould of it. There is a place not far from here but I dont have access to an exa to see what prices are like.

How do u get them off neway(the lights) they look pritty stuck to me...

And do you reakon that the front 2 are easy to make clear. Cause they look flippin good clear. Like just grab a piece of persects and cut it to the shape of the front indactor then put a orange(or woteva it is) bulb in its place...

the bak ones would be harder i think...although not too bad. my next door nieghbour is the owner of a pannelbeating shop....maybe i could get sum done for cheap...?

But i actually seen some blue lights here in Panama... Instead of using clear plastics, they use blue tinted... it's possible... maybe i will do taht in a future!

ok let me say it again...88nissannxse's blue tail lights are real like mine..he told me in another post that they were...im not sure on it but he said they were real...so ill take his word on it;)
