View Full Version : NEED HELP..wiring up a exa motor 84 turbo

hi i need help with the wiring to the starter motor and battire....i brought this exa and i need to start it up.the guy took the starter motor out and left a mess were the wires are (pulled out all over the place.) do'es any one have photos of the wiring inside the engine bay of a 84 model turbo exa ill i need is a photo of the wiring. it would help me a lot.... i need to get this motor running to see if its any good. and then i can start on my project and get it ready for small car sunday

im pretty sure there are only 2 wires to the starter motor,
one is the positive from the battery, it goes to the bolt that isnt connected to the body of the starter with a copper rope, and the other wire is the "exciter" wire. This is black/yellow trace from memory and comes from your ignition switch, this goes to the spade terminal near the two other terminals on the solenoid.

battery is easy, the terminal that cable is bolted to the chasis is the -ve, the other one that goes to the starter is +ve
