My Exa has just started to leak coolant from behind (the firewall side) the block.
It appears to be leaking from below the inlet manifold.
It appears to be a bad area to get to.
Does anyone know where it is likely to be leaking from and the best way to fix it?
Just when I fix the radiator and thermostat it starts to leak coolant.....:mafia:

Yeh mate it's tha lil "S" bend hose at tha back there!

It's not THAT hard to get to but if ur clamps are done up tiight then u wont be able to do this easily.

But then again it's allways good to replace tha clamps anyway!

So go get a hose from somewhere (u can make one out of a $10 '88 Ford Laser AUTO' radiator hose)

Now a week after i did ma coolant this hose went... but i didnt want to drain it again so i got a big metal tray and put it under where i was working to catch tha litre of coolant that comes out!
I managed to get my clamps undone but if u cant just cut tha hose and with a pair of pliers or wire cutters or something and get tha clamps off.

Then simply put the new hose on Bottom end 1st and with a funnel VERY slowly fill it with coolant making sure NOT to get an air bubble stuck in there! U dont have to do this,

What u could do is get tha hose on... with tha radiator cap off and resivar tank cap off start tha car and wait for it to warm up so tha thermostat opens and start filling with coolant slowly then once full turn off car put cap on and fill tha res tank to tha 'max' mark! go for a good spin then come back and check it again! then a couple of days down tha track just check it again (res tank).

Hope u can understand this,
Craig.

So, is the hose the actual radiator hose or one of the small heater hose size hoses?
Can you give any more details regarding the identification of this hose?
Is the hose I need to fix it for the 88 Laser's radiator or heater?
Thanks for your reply.

it's tha heater hose! but mate tha thing is we have an '88 ford laser manual car and there is no hose on it even slightly like this one! so eitha tha manual and auto cars were completely different or tha shop i got it from just didn't know what they were on about and just flooked gettin me tha right one!
U need a lil hose that has an S bend but also the to end dont run parallel!
I might be best to see if u can get your old one off 1st!!!

Craig.
