Hi, I have just done the CA18DET conversion on my girlfriends N13 EXA.

I haven't fired it up yet but almost there. It is the topmount version and I have some questions if anyone can answer them it would be great.

I am guessing you fill the gearbox oil up through the speedo hole. Howmuch do I put in? Up to the top??? Dont know.

Also the throttle boddy was close to the clutch master but I hacksawed a lug off the throttle body to give me about 15mm clearance, should be fine. The brake master however is close. there is a sensor that is practically touching, anyone else have this problem?

Does the bonnet clear the topmount cooler? Ill find this out soon but yeah.

Does anyone know where all the vacume lines go? I have labeled some/most but that looks like it could be fun.

If anyone can help out that would be great. I have quite a few pics of the conversion if anyone is interested.

Regards,
Dale

Ok I have looked at the gearbox and there is only onehole that has a 1/2" drive plug in it. I filled the oil to that level, seems about right.

If this is wrong can some1 please tell me. Cheers.

The rest of the questions are still valid.

If i do get stuck i got lots of photos, maybe you could label them or something for me?

Here's the brief summary I made out of the workshop diagram before redoing my vacuum lines. There might be one or two mistakes but I'm pretty sure its mainly spot on. Please note, you can 'tweak' some of the extra's such as the throttle body to run of manifold pressure rather than the factory solenoid etc.

AFM Air Flow Meter
EGR Exhaust Gas Recirculation
CV Check Valve

AFM -> Air Injection Solenoid (1) -> Air Injection Valve
AFM -> Air Injection Solenoid (2) -> Outlet of PRVR Solenoid (3way)
AFM -> PRVR Solenoid (1) -> Pressure Regulator Valve (direct or tubing connection)
AFM -> PRVR Solenoid (2) -> CV -> Vacuum Tank -> Power Valve Solenoid (1)
AFM -> Power Valve Solenoid -> CV -> Power Valve Actuator
AFM -> EGR Solenoid -> EGR Valve & BPT Valve (3way) -> then merge both back together on way to exhaust manifold
Exhaust Cam Cover -> PCV Valve -> Intake Manifold

Lonx has helped you out with the vacuum lines so thats all sweet

The bonnet will clear the top mount if you have positioned it right.

Hopefully cutting the nut for the master cylinder to have some clearance won't affect anything adversly

You should have a look at the Perth cruise section, he had a cruise not too long ago and I think another is being planned before uni starts back.

I got the ga16I engine, and i had that problem with the brake fluid sensor wire. Also, what engien did it have in ti before the ca18DET? Cause I may be the first dood to have a pulsar with a GA16I, but convert to ca18det. It's gonna be a bitch!!! lol.

yeah mine was originally a CA18DE.

Is yours a GA16 or CA16? If its a CA16 then i dont think you will have any problems.
