my exa just started playing silly buggers

revs cut out at various stages

1st cuts out 4000rpm
2nd cuts out 3700 rpm
3rd cuts out 3500rpm
4th cuts out about 3000rpm
5th cuts out about 2500rpm
neutral revs happily past 5500rpm

has been running fine previously but last 2 days this is happening, feels like its hitting a rev limiter and just coughs and splutters.

guessing this is definately fuel related had this kinda problem before and it was one of the connector plugs on one of the sensors but i've checked that.

my guess is either your ecu wires playing up, or you have a plug that is failing under load.
try cranking a bit of contact cleaner (around 20bucks a can - maybe u can scab it from work) onto all ur sensor wires and ecu wires, it fixed the problem i had on my s14. If that dont work, and ur plugs aint the prob maybe crank angle sensor?

yeh might start pulling out connector plugs and blowing them over with compressed air then greasing the connectors. considering half my sensors/connectors are cut it wont take to long :)

If u still cant find problem, and if you have an aftermarket computer, may pay to have the computer checked as i have had similar simptoms with a haltec, when a chip inside became faulty.

Standard Turbo ECU on NA EFI E15

greased up all the connections and found a few live wires, fixed these up and shes running good again.
