Yo
My video card recently decided to have a meltdown, so I think its time to update my computer system
I have around 1k to spend on a CPU, memory, videocard, motherboard and maybe Hard drive
I dont need a system for playing games, really the only thing i need it for is to surf the net and rip DVD movies to Divx..
I currently have a P3 733 with 256mbRAM, Geforce DDR 32mb videocard, 20 gig HDD and it takes forever to rip a DVD...
At the moment im tossing up for :
CPU
Intel Pentium4 2.0AGHz Skt 478 CPU (512k cache) w/Intel Cooler - $374 or $423 for a 2.4GHz
VideoCard
Albatron MX480V GeForce4 MX440-8X 3.6ns 64mb DDR AGP Video Card w/video in/out & DVI - $225
Motherboard? no idea can someone suggest just a simple one which can support AGP x8 and also 5 pci slots?
RAM
PC-2100 512mb 184-pin DDR SDRAM unbuffered DDR266 whats the difference if any between the different 2700, 3200 etc?
- $291
HDD
Maxtor 60GB DiamondMax Plus9 ATA133 IDE Hard drive, 7200RPM, 2mb cache - $198
Are these good prices? Im copying and pasting them off the auspcmarket.com.au site
NIP007 can u do any better??
