Has anyone here had to change/update their aircon from the old system to the new system? Im wondering how much it will cost. Im not just talking about regassing it, because ive been told as its a pre 94 or whatever the cutoff year was, its like $400 upwards for the new system.

I did mine few months ago(retro fit), cost me $330, they had a few troubles and had to replace some hoses and valves aswell. So $400 seems a bit dear to me.

I did the retofit kit on my 89 Pulsar xe and the kit was about $29.99. I sucked the system doun with a old AC compressor from a old refridgerator. My car now blows icecubes at me in the car. But most of the time I got the tops off.:dapimp

hey dudes
i got a quote the other week... and my mate said it would cost around $400 for me... cos i've got some serious problems with mine....
But for a standard retro fit costs about $140. thats re gas, change of oil in compressor, new receiver/dryer and i think a change the TX valve.
I hope this helps
