Hey people, just a few photos of my front mounted intercooler halfway installed, pipework is basically all made up, it just needs to be finished up and polished to a chrome sort of finish like the pipework on the gemini.
Should be able to run some more boost once it's finished, hmmmmm........ boost.
Took a photo of some of the other stuff my mechanic is working on at the moment, the gemini is an absolute shitter, but should scare the hell out of a lot of people (including anyone that drives it!), it's running EMS, silvia gearbox, fmic and is seriously in need of a MAJOR brake upgrade!
Then there's the 180sx, an absolute friggin beast if I do say so myself, sr20 (stock internals), HUGE turbo, MASSIVE front mount, upgraded injectors, custom fuel rail, massive fuel pump, still yet to be dyno'd but we can expect some seriously large horsies to be under that hood.
That's about it, will put more photos up when it's all finished.
If anyone wants to contact my mechanic, pm me.
That's my story.

Ahhhhhh....... the front bar you ask? Well you see there was this...... ummmmm...... this guy in a toyota, well he.......
OK, OK, I RAN UP THE ARSE OF A TOYOTA LANDCRUISER ALL RIGHT?!?!?!?!?
IT WAS ALL MY FAULT, god damn it.
We were merging onto the highway, and there was HEAPS OF ROOM (in my opinion) to merge on, I was behind him and looked back at the traffic for a split second, and then turned back to be confronted with a Lancruiser utes rear end (he had stopped completely on the onramp (FUCKWIT!!)), I hit the skids and they were useless (had only just bought the car, brakes were shot), managed to stop just after putting his tow ball through my parker light, lucky that was the only damage, he didn't even get a scratch on his car!
That's my story, thanks Howie.

Looks fucking awesome man.... well done 10/10 , love the polished finished on the pipe work and cooler looks awesome as well...
What type of blow off valve is that? Is it a type 3?
You sure u wanna sell it to buy my car? Suppose u could take the running setup out of yours and put it in mine, and put my motor is yours and sell it... hmmmmmm
Anyway to answer your question you have been placed at the top of my list... :D
well done

Yeah whi55l, it's a turbosmart type 3 bov except I didn't like the blue colouring on the top cap of those, so I managed to chase down a type 3 in a polished finish to match the piping (turbosmart never released them like this, they bloody well should though, it's a whole other story how I got it though). I figured with the red rocker covers, a blue cap would look a little too..... well I dunno, fucked (for lack of a better word).
The intercooler actually used to reside in the front bar of that 180sx above, (the photo of the "fat sr20"). But it wasn't big enough for his application! (Dimensions of mine are 600x300x70) It was restricting his airflow from that MASSIVE turbo, so he installed a FUCKING HUGE front mount in its place and sold the smaller one to me. The one he has in there now is worth close to $3,000 all up! They just re-dynoed it with the new intercooler and it spun up 378 rwhp. I think that's fairly respectable considering it has stock internals, and if anyone has read the latest copy of hot4's and seen the dyno figures from that "dyno day" at mazsport or wherever it was, they'll know this thang aint no punkass.
My mechanic is actually considering running the 180 on lpg. With two tanks in the boot (one for butane and one for propane (I think)), because you can alter the mix ratio to raise the octane level quite easily, and therefor use more boost. But that's well into the future.
As to the aformentioned plan whi55l, sounds like a good one to me! Would have to clean up my motor a fair bit though before it would even think about jumping into your bay. Example: that heat cover on the exhaust manifold aint to pretty right now is it? But that'll just need a coat of yellow paint, just like ur wiper blades and those sideview mirrors, oh and a cosworth wing just for good measure. PUKE.
Actually, probably going on a road trip down your way in mid to late february most probably, will have to get in touch so I can come n check it out.
Got to go
(oh by the way, I dont think my mechanic would go overseas to do an install nismodude!)

EXA 18, Fulli frount mount man...been out of the country for awhile, infact i'm in Hong Kong at the moment, waiting for a flight. We have pretty much the sam size FMI. I'll post up some pick of the old girl in a few days. Hows you're clutch holding up??? My plan is to install one in about 3 weeks. We have to race some time man

Hey Akela man, how u doing? Long time, no hear/see etc.
Clutch is fine, doesn't slip at all, although a better one will be on the cards pretty soon I think. Because there's a garret gt28bb turbo out there somewhere just screaming to be bolted up to my manifold I'm sure!

Hey man(exa18), sorry been real busy and on holiday for the last couple of months. My clutch can't handle more than 7 psi and it slips, it best around 6psi. Two weeks we are doin a small rebuild and fitting a big ass clutch, and i'm looking at a respray after. I won't tell u what color yet. Your front mount is actually bigger than mine. But its not important how big it is its how u use it, hehehehe. Any way i got some pics of my car i'll put a post up in a bit with a link hopefully.

Lookin good. Yeah FMI is the way to go for sure. Top mount interwarmers need a scoop to work effectively, and then you lose the whole sleeper effect. Just look at hairball's SR20DET. Built for speed, not looks. (Although the looks will be coming soon I believe).
