Ummm. just a question... when i start the car... mainly in the morning... if i apply the accelerator slowly the Revs drop sharply from around 1100RPM - 600RPM and almost stalls... is this just becoz its cold?

mine used to do that also when it was cold. After an oil change it stopped, but proceded to come back again. I never bothered to try fixing it, but I'm sure it's got to do with the TPS.

Hey dudes
Newbie is right... its got nothing to do with the TPS... The TPS tells the ECU that you have pressed the accelerator... and for to dump fuel accordingly to the AFM.
What the problem is, is the air by-pass valve located on the left side of the throttle body, looking from the front of the car. Its bolted on to the manifold with a rubber hose clamped atteached to it... the rubber hose runs accross the back of the manifold
when the car idles in the morning... it idles low cos the air bypass is shut off cosby age it becomes clogged. Once you open the throttle the ECU identifies that you've accelerated and begins to dump fuel.... Without any extra air.... it floods the chamber and the idle drops...
It is possible to clean the valve... I've heard that\, you can pull it apart and spray it with intake manifold cleaner . then i was told that you can adjust the bolt which is factory preset... Which loosens the spring insode and hopefully becomes unstuck... Or you can simply wait an extra 1 minute when the engine becomes warmer..

Yes... i'm not meaning to argue with ya, this sounds every much like a fix to a similar problem (maybe another fix to tha same problem)
If u read in another post... there are plenty on this problem but i fix "the EXACT same problem" simply by adjusting tha TPS!!!
She works fine now!!!
Anyway i just needed to have my say!
And a grumble because there has been plenty posts about this problem!!!

Hey,
could be either... You guys are like me Ex. once the battery went falt whe nshe was in the car,and teh next time it broke down (turned out to jus be shitty fuel) she suggested I check my battery! lol - gotta luv it! But yes, the TPS could do the same thing - Ie dump extra fuel in when the vehicle is not seeing the extra air..

actually sam i was starting to think that that is where all my problems started! I put some dodgey ass cheapo 'half-way house' fuel in her... and it wasn't till i put normal premuim back in her that tha problem popped up all of a sudden!
Just u question...DO all u guyz find that ur fuel pump eitha takes a very long time sometimes or it's overly loud???'
I still have tha back seat in there so it's nothing to do with not gettin muffled... just sometimes it sounds like it's not getting tha fuel to where it should!
Cheers,
Craig.
