G'day all,
My two week new NXR has a slight problem. The drivers side window won't move at all. When you hit one of the window buttons (one for full up/down, other is partial up/down) you hear the relays click away, but nothing moves. Anyone know what I can do?
Thanks,
Mek

take off ur door trim, just pop off any caps and undo all visible screws then the rest should just be pop'in clips.... so u just pull after that.... leave the p/w butotn connected and try it now with the door trim off.... loosen the bolts to the p/w motor and now try going up and down.... im not sure but most of the time the motor just get jammed, and if u undo it support screws, move it slightly then re tighten it works fine...... believe it or not thats a very common fault in the new s15's, they're windows get jammed down....

yeah put ur ear fla on the window and see if u hear the motor winding... if u do, it aint the fuse....if u dont, could be fuse, reg or motor

It's been like that the last few days. I had the door trim off a few days ago, and when I put everything back together, I tried to the switches, and it made a bit of a whir, and has been silent ever since. The fuses I checked (near the air filter) and that is only one
fuse for both windows. Tomorrow I'll check the motor alignment. :alien1:

My NXR did the same 3 days out of warranty. It is the cogs in the motor. They are worn more than likely. Did it make like a grinding noise before it stopped all together? They are not hard to replace. just expensive. I have been taking my old one out every couple of weeks and hitting the case with a mash hammer. It works for a while, then stops begins to grind again. If your after a new motor contact ELECTRIC LIFE in Melbourne. They offer new replacement parts for power window mechanisms and are about 2/3 cheaper that nissan dealerships.

howdy,
Thanks for all the advice so far.....
This morning I pulled the door trim out, and couldn't find the power window motor, tried jiggling thigns about inside the door, didn't help.
I got the contact block out of the door trim and opened it up..... :hitwall:
now both windows don't work :flamedevi
Considering it can't get any worse, does anyone have any ideas? If there is anyone in Geelong that has had experience with this and want to pull me out of the rut I've got myself in?

The motor looks like a little snail. There are three bolts that need to be taken off behind the trim. When they are undone the motor can be wiggled out by sticking your hand inside the door. It is very tricky but can be done. As i said before, i took mine out every couple of weeks.
Persistance and patience will get it out. Shine a torch in there and hold a little mirror in there so you can see the motor.
I have done this so many times i can do it with my eyes shut. Ne questions mekros, just ask. Hopefully I can help.

I've got this problem with my bloody passenger window now.
It's always worked, and I was cleaning my car and neatening wires under the glove box and then sprayed Amour All to give it a nice clean sheen.
Then I go to put down the window, and the farken thing does not move!!
Up/down work on the drivers console, but not the passenger one.
And the passenger one doesn't work either :(
What could it be ????
Motor sounded a little laboured, but no clicking of the such, had the rattle halfway down, but always been fine ?

I was installing my new speakers recently and had my passenger side one stop working, (halfway through a cruise i might add) ripped the whole door apart at a stop we made for ice checking to see if i'd forgot to plug the wires back into the control, nothing.
Then halfway to where we were going i start thinking about that bloody window again, and it hits me, what about the child lock. Turns out i must of accidently pushed it when putting a door panel in place.
stupid freekin idiots 'lets put a childlock on a car with two windows' freekin nissan.
