My babi is a 1991 Exa wid a CA18DE, but really i want somthing i can be my daily driver and be reliable but also gimme that lovely adrenaline rush ya get when ya hit the accelerator....

So, question time, my cars done 200,000 kms and im guessing there is no point turbing ma engine, so here is what i was thinking,

Is it feasible to get my engine re-coed, then turb it?????
would this be a cheap and easy way to get the power i want????
How much would this cost me ???? (in seperate costings please)

And what do i need to get done to do this, cash is a valuable issue here, and i wanna do it cheap but get some nice grunt outta her, im not worried bout crazy amounts of speed. oh yer atm she is basically stock.

What would u do on a limited budget in my situation ????

Wouldn't recomend turboing a DE engine. Good chance more than 6psi woul blow the engine. If you want an EXA to go fast you should do a turb conversion. About 900 for the engine whic will bolt to you're box. I recomend putting in a new clutch, about 600??? And a computer. About 300 for a standard one. Plus you have to pay for instalaion. About 2000??? About 500 to 700 for sundary stuff like wiring and extra stuff workshops love to suprise u with. Hope that give u an idea. Its actually not too expensive if you do it yourself.

check http://www.nissanexa.com/mods/ for some info on upgrades read up on as much as you can then work out your budget and what you want.

if going cheap pay particular attention to airfilters and exhaust best bang for buck (airfilter first) K&N have an airfilter kit that drops straight into the standard spot. cheap + easy = good.

oh, and be aware, most "sports" exhaust are purely noise cans and make little difference to performance at all. you have to be very careful here as lots of people get duped into paying 1000's of dollars for a big shiny exhaust that actually makes their engine run worse.

also this http://www.nissanexa.com/mods/turbo/sr20det/index.html is a very good resource for info on what to do.

my car has K&N filter, cold air induction, extractors, and exhaust (nothing too flash just a little better than std) and it goes sweet
