hey guys i'm currently searching for a replacement for the old N13 pulsar and i'm tossing up between an nxr and an n14 sss. pros for the nxr is that you get cruise control, elecy windows, and of course targa top. but i'm wondering if any on can tell me if there is any mechanical differences between the two cars. is the nxr baced around a pulsar ie. suspention setup. and if so is it baced on the n13 OR THE N14. and what are the power/weight for the nxr. any help would be great.

cheers.

the nx is from the b13 family so is based on the sentra family,
suspension is slightly different (i think)
but the engine, sr20de, gear box is the same
and i believe that the nx (1165kg) is lighter than the sss
and u will find the nxr has the same features as the j-spec sss
although unsure bout cruise control on the j-spec sss

the NX has better handling, as (in my opinion) the 2-door Sentra chassis was made for cornering, unlike the pulsar chassis :)

According to redbook.com

1995 SSS Manual - 1141kg
1995 NXR Manual - 1165kg

cannot give an opinion, never driven a n14

either way you'll get a good car just depends what you want/ prefer

if you go the pulsar get a j-spec
i think they look a bit meaner

That's the European version, the stock Aussie version weights 1130kg... they got extras like rear fog lights, headlight wipers and roof spoilers.

I can't comment on the n14 sss but the NXR is great, you'll have to shop around but it's worth it. You can read their stats here (http://www.se-r.net/about/nx2000/93_NX2000_stats.html).

NXR also has power windows, leather accessories ( gear knob, gear boot )

AHH, i did not know that the nx didnt have power windows and the leather bits. Learn something everyday. Never driven a Pulsar so cant say. All i can say is I love my NXR and look forward to driving it everyday, still after 2 years.

Don't forget the steering wheel.
Front spoiler has a larger air dam as well.
ABS brakes.

That's a little on top of what's already said...

I guess it comes down to which car you like the look of more, pulsar being 4 door with sunroof nx being 2 door targa top, either way your going to have a very nice car :)

that is it
just be patient take a few for a spin and if your happy with a back seat suitable for people with little legs go with the nx

i always see it as an excuse not to carry passengers:chuckle:

sss and nxr are both nice cars imo, but what do you guys think of the bluebird SSS - 112kW 2.4L......?

The bluebird would be a nice cruiser. But if your looking for performance then you'd be taking a step backwards. 2.4 should generate nice torque, but the bluebird would be a heavy fella.

the only decent bluebird is the jap import one with SR20DET. U13 Bluebird Attessa. They are cool
