hi all
i have a ca18det out of the U12 bluebird in a pulsar N13.
She Idles fine but as soon as u give it revs it dies and stalls.
and it rev bounces once it hits 2000rpm.
I did a ECU error check and got the code 12 which is Air Flow Meter. So i changed the AFM and still does the same thing !?
Can anyone help me . I have no car ....:flamedevi :(
Cheers !!!!

hey mate.
Check all ya vacum lines! they do alot! mine did somehitng very similar, pluged some vacum lines in,that were not connected and,and shit it made a difference! If it was ya AFM you wpou;d npt be able to REv your car past 2-3000rpm

Ok well if it's tha MAF/AFM then it WONT rev past 2grand but if u've changed tha MAF/AFM then what did u change it for? a 2nd hand one?
When the MAF/AFM dies there is a sensor inside that breaks it's a little bit like the thing inside a light bulb.
Have a look at your old one there should be a wire in a Z pattern over 2/3 prongs! If there is no wire then it is fookered or if it's broken!
If there is a wire and it's intact then your problem lies in the connectors make sure they are clean and nice fit! Also u might want to check the wires !
Although this shouldn't really affect you idling... this you can change by adjust the screw on the back of tha inlet manifold where tha little air hose gos into tha intake!!!
Also you my want to get hold of a mulit meter and make sure the TPS is set up properly!!!

yeah ive tried all that ... the AFM that i got with the motor was fooked. i pulled it apart and those little diodes things that look like the things in a light bulb were broken . probably due from too much back firing through the intake. so i changed it with a second hand one which is fine and the car wont rev past 2-3000rpm.
ive donr multiple ECU error checks and still get code 12 which is AFM. ive checked the wiring to the connectors, cleaned them etc and still nothing!
What else could it be ?? the AFM is getting power to the ECU . Would it make a difference if the AFM is hooked up via relay? of straight power to the ECU? wold it make a difference?
but all i know is that im getting code 12 and the car wont rev past 2000rpm. also my spark plugs are fouwed up . the cars running to rich !!!
what to do ????
