Can anyone in here tell me how much would a stock standard ca18de engine cost, one with less than 100,000kms. Anyone know of someone that could help me on where i could get one. Im in brisbane.

got quoted 800 bux canadian yesterday for a 18de, whole motor with less than 50k on it from japan, but i am sure this is no help to you but just thought i would share the info.
piston was hitting cyl head...time for new hamster-hehe

i bought my ca18de from Ichibarn in Sydney and it costed me $800 delivered....

their number is 02 96007066. I felt they didn't have any idea how Kilometres it had done but they said around 70-80K.

But when you do purchase on... check for corrosion on the cam.... when you open the oil cap... It is believable that if the cam has rust on it.... chances are the engine has been sitting for quite some time and you'll need to be careful... I had difficulty starting my car cos there was no oil getting to the oil pump so it wasn't getting oil pressure.... I had to manually prime the oil pump... dirty job but it worked!... then ran the engine with oil for about 20kms and changed it.....

Cos the engine has been sitting idle... It is recommended that you pull off all manifolds and sump to give it a good clean. In the sump oil can go crusty!!! YOu'll need to scrap it out!
