Rear window defroster info

If anyone has a problem with the rear window defroster not working, i found the relay that fixes that problem. Behind the instrament closter ,directly behind the tack is a relay that is hidden and cant be gotten too unless you take out the cluster. Mine was not working. But on my 89 it was and you could hear it click when you turned it on. Thats how I found it. This is on a US Pulsar 87 thru 90.

I dont think mine works, but it does go click click, and when ots says its on the orange light flashes with the click.

Is this the same problem?

does the light come on when you push the button?
if no, check the fuse... alot of times there is a problem with that hatch switch and the fuse blows.

I agree with fatman racing. You should try to see if the fuse is blown first, then see if the rear hatch is making contact with those terinals. A good way to find this out is seeing if your rear interior light goes on when you open the hatch. If that does not come on you might have to adjust the switch a bit. The defroster switch blinking is a new one by me. Never seen or heard of that before. The only thing i can think of that would make it do that is if the relay is stuck between on and off, which i've seen other relays do before.:flashsmil

By the way when I ment it clicks, I ment the relay was clicking and not the click that comes from the switch when you push it.

i have a problem with a relay 'clicking'...

the black one near two blue ones under the dash! which i was lead to beleive was the indcator relay but when i take it out nothing happens everything still works fine.

When i'm driving on rough ground or with a window open it clicks and is sooooooooooo bloody anoying!!!

When I press mine the light comes on and it goes "click." But the defroster works VERY slowly.

get this it only clicks and blinks when the air is on the flow through, and stops when its on recycled air.

devilexa, thats not the defroster relay , thats the relay for your third brake light inside your hatch. This clicking means that the hatch has to be adjusted doun so it does not trigger that perticuler relay.
