Fitting
a Unifilter/Rampod
- First
take on the airbox should be a small hose from the base
of the airbox that runs underneath the air pipe. Simply
take this off of the airbox and block it off with a
rubber stop and tighten it with the clamp that is already
there. When the rampod is in it will not be used anymore.
-
Take out the old airbox undoing all the screws from
the metal bracket that attaches the neck to the airbox
and the bolts holding it to the left front wall. Some
of the other screws that need to be removed are in difficult
positions but after these are removed all that should
be holding it in place is another bracket that the base
of the box simply slots into and should just pull straight
towards the engine.
- You
will notice there are a lot of valve's etc. underneath
the neck of the air intake and close to where the old
airbox was. These are encased in a small black box that
is open at the bottom with these valves exposed. This
is OK and can just hang where it is or move it out of
the way a bit.
- Another
flow pipe from the from air dam and inside the guard
has to be taken off as well.
- Fit
the new Unifilter/rampod and the bracket that comes
with it. Mark where the bracket holes on the strut tower
and if there are not already holes available drill the
holes making sure that the filter is not touching anything.
- Tighten
the screws holding the filter to the neck of the air
pipe then bolt the bracket holding the filter to the
strut tower. Use some cable ties and tie the black box,
which should now be underneath the air pipe, around
the pipe tightly so that the valve's etc, inside the
box are secured to the pipe.
