Thread: vBulletin forum software upgraded

    Wink vBulletin forum software upgraded

We've upgraded the forum software to vBulletin 4, and in doing so, some parts of the site will be missing until I have them integrated into the sites new content management.

In the meantime, the forum will remain fully functional.

As always, if you have any dramas with the site or the forums - post them in the feedback/bugs forum.

    Cheers,
    Warren

I've noticed a few bits and pieces that are broken here and there:-
    • Obviously, the EXA/NX info section, the modification section etc is down at the moment. I'm going to spend the next week or so updating content in the new CMS which will eventually be viewable
    • The contact page doesn't work anymore, not that it's really used anyways.
    • Some attachment images broke in the transfer, mainly amongst peoples albums.
    • The all albums page (which was kind of a gallery replacement) is missing until that modification makes it in to vB 4.
    • The bits under your names in posts (year of exa, donating member, etc) is missing until I work out how to recode my templetes in vb4 (which is entirely new code.)

Unfortunately, no. I've looked into it and that'd be hours and hours of work. I could just put the pictures up and have some kind of gallery software generate pages for them? But then the photos would lack substance without the owner details etc...

    Hey dude,
loving the new site, but have to complain about the amount of white space that's displayed between the text of my post and the signature with or without pic at the bottom. I think it's due to the avatar pic but yeah .. too much blank space on the forum.

I see what you mean. I'll see if there's an easy enough fix for it...

edit: FIXED! All it took was a CSS tweak.

I've installed a bit of a mod that turns the user album feature into a gallery. The vBulletin albums aren't the greatest gallery script in the world as they're not able to be categorised, nor does the page display that well; but at least it's a gallery of sorts for the meantime. I'm hoping they give it a little more attention in their future upgrades.
