    Some new members

How can we encourage visitors to join this site
I constantly notice there is up to ten times the amount of visitors as there is members on this site at any one time. And considering the number of members on at a time is usually less than ten, surely some of the visitors may be keen to join but may be a bit hesitant. I know when I first found this site I didn't even really know what a forum was and now I'm on here very frequently Is there a way to make it more inviting I wonder The facebook & twitter thingos are a good start (if you're into that stuff!)
I'm not for one second suggesting this site to become another "members only chat site" or any kind of psuedo facebook getup I'm just thinking it would be good if there were more members logged on to be able to converse with (about cars + s**t mostly of course).
Does anyone have an opinion on anything I've said or do you have a suggestion as to how we increase active members? Post your thought people ....

Actually, most visitors are Spiderbots from search engines.

BTW: I think it's because there's only so many EXA's left. There's plenty of B13's, but most of them are foreign (like me), and thus have trouble with english forums. Even in the States there's more Sentras than NXs. Though more than I see here.

@ the Dutch Nissan100NX club, there's plenty though, but again, half a world away. I could get EDM parts for all the NX owners here, though...

is a spiderbot from when a google search is made & its one of the results?

regarding not many exas; I think the're is still a reasonable amount in Oz but maybe the some owners are either already members and not active any more or don't know of the site in 1st place (or no computer. I think quite a lot of households out here don't use their net for a lot anyway)
I wish I had found this site sooner as I've had my car for 2 years.) It would have been great in the earlier days when more people were active. From what I have pieced together there used to be a lot more people on her.
Oh well, I will still stay active atleast as long as I have an Exa.

No, all the big search engines have these "bots" that collect info (for example, sometimes you see a "guest" printing a page) so search results are available quickly.

oh righto. All a bit complicated. That means that a site counter will really be inaccurate won't it?

I am noticing that the newest member name changes every few days so I guess that means this site may revive itself yet! Hope so. The more the merrier!

True, it happens at our forums as well, unfortunately, these new "members" can also be spambots. Anyone with sufficient rights should be able to tell teh difference between true persons and spambots (I'm head moderator on our forums (www.nissan100nxclub.nl/forums), and we get spambots every week. Fortunately, or security is quite high, and words like v!agra and c!ialis are on a blacklist).

I can't find a good list of any of the "new" members, so I can't have a look at them.

A good way to make people eager to join is to make replys to questions only viewable by members, that way if a search through Google takes you here because you have a question, you can't get the answer unless your a member. I have seen many forums that do this and its always worth it to join if you want that answer.

*I'm sorry if this forum already has this but I joined right away and am always logged in so I wouldn't know.

I don't know what other people think but your idea has legs. That would mean all users of this site would need to b a member which sound reasonable enough. I wonder what other people think of this idea?

Most actual visitors stop by because there is a lot of information regarding ca18s. I often find many links on silvia/s13 sites referencing nissan exa.

Put the boots to him. Medium style.
